This city just got a lot less comfortable and that makes me cry.
Living abroad gets you acquainted with the concept of meeting beautiful people and then watching them leave. It’s a fact that we all have to face no matter what but sometimes, you’ll meet a person who you don’t ever want to leave from your life. It’s heartbreaking but inevitable. I’ll miss you every...
Change. So many changes this year. But the good kind. The kind of change where you rotate teachers around so you can get a chance to make more bonds with people. The kind that forces you to use your time wisely and live in the moment. The kind that excites you for relocating to a familiar place. The kind that makes your friendships stronger. The kind that takes you to new territory. The kind that...

I refuse to believe that I live in confinement and that my life is mediocre.
On the first night that I came back to Korea, I had a dream that I had to climb a ladder and I didn’t think I could do it. But someone told me “You can! Just try!” So, I climbed it and eventually reached the top. When I got there, I was looking down below and saw a lot of people (friends, strangers, etc) and I shouted ” Hey guys! I’m up here! I did it!” And...
Forget valentines day. February is all about...
I miss my brother, Bunna. He is no doubt one of the best people on this earth. Bernabe and I were laughing so hard while reminiscing about the funny crap that Bunna says and does. “Bunna Rorng” you are one heck of a dude. Now show us a dance brother.
One thing ends and something else starts up again. So you see, there’s always something to look forward to!

I took a three hour stroll in Bermeo today. It has been raining all week and today was finally perfect! Got a lot of stares. I guess it’s rare for the people here to see a little asian lady in the small town of Bermeo but people are nice. They speak Basque here. I never thought I’d go to Spain and learn about the various languages (Basque, Catalan, and variations of Espanol) and also...
If you have close friends, supportive and loving family, eat delicious cuisine, get to explore and wake up in new surroundings, I’d say…you’re living the life.
I’m loving Spain.
I can’t explain.
I’m leaving for Spain tomorrow. Despite losing a whole day due to flying and waiting…I’m excited, nervous, happy, anxious, etc. I can’t wait to be in a different place, see different people, hear different languages, do different activities, eat different food. Most of all, I can’t wait to see two good friends of mine. It’s been a year since I’ve seen a...
Tengo que decirte…
I think it’s time I let you go now.
HAPPY2012!!!
I don’t usually like to post about my alcoholic escapades but I’d like to share one moment with you that pretty much started off my year on a positive note!
I had to come to work today and teach my 5th graders for our winter english camp and while they were making their name cards, we got a phone call from the principal’s office to hurry downstairs to meet him in his office....

You know that antsy feeling you get when you know times a tickin’ and you just wish that it would hurry the heck up and come to a close so you can move on. I just need to take a break. We’ve been together for a year and a half now and I feel so suffocated and jaded right now. Just a break and I’ll be good as new, refreshed and at my best.
To whom am I referring to? Why the oh...

Kim Jong Il is dead! What’s the fate of North and South Korea? If something bad happens, I hope it happens after I leave the country.
Let’s hope it happens after I leave the country too…six months after you!
13 more days until the end of the year.
2011 was crazy!
I got to meet tons of new people. I still managed to stay connected and loyal to my best friends back home. People who I care about have found ways to better themselves! I travelled to some amazing places. I ate some interesting food. I cried sometimes (mostly at the beginning of the year). I laughed A LOT (every day actually)! I grew up....

I’m thankful to be alive. to have supportive family and friends. to be here. to be there. to grow.
Happy Thanksgiving.
I booked my ticket to Spain. I will be going in January for three weeks to see my boy, Bernabe and my girl, Jeanette. I will be visiting Malaga, Bilbao, Basque Country, Barcelona and Madrid. If things work out, I will take a weekend trip to Morroco while I’m there. Whatsupppp! Can’t wait! :D
Koreans don't play with their education
Tomorrow is the day that high school students will take their SATs in order to apply for universities. Students here want to get into the top universities and the application process is definitely not easy. On top of high Korean SATs scores, being at the top of their classes (most of the students strive to be), and attending private academies after their regular public school hours, the applicants...
This man hiked up the Himalayas in the dead of winter back in ‘82. He came from a small countryside town in SoKo and he did something extraordinary! Even though we didn’t get to talk to him for very long, his life inspires me. If this small town man went out to the world to achieve such a big goal, then I sure as hell can do anything I want. I’m tired of feeling scared of...

Autumn
As promised….
One of the best weekends in SoKo.
Trip to Cheongsong
This year, Halloween weekend was not spent dressing up in a costume and drinking with all of the foreigners in downtown while everyone acts a fool. My friends and I decided to head to the countryside to get a breathe of real fresh air and experience some country hospitality first hand. The scenery was fantastic since all of the leaves are changing colors due to Autumn. We...

I loved how I spent this weekend…
1) Going to the Asia Song Festival (Kpop, Thai Pop, Chinese Pop, Japanese Pop). Conveniently located in Daegu this year!
2) Being captured on TV for 3 seconds dancing in an awkward way.
3) Freezing in the the pouring rain while trying to watch these artists perform.
4) Playing Monopoly with Steph and Gloria til four in the morning. (Gotta stay up all...
The King of Bhutan
LA Times
“Reporting from New Delhi—When the big day came, and it came Thursday, the other royal wedding of the year — this one in far-off, remote Bhutan — adopted a distinctly different tone.
In sharp contrast to the nuptials of Britain’s Prince William and Catherine Middleton, there were no star-studded celebrities, self-important film stars, fidgeting foreign royals or a long...
